Discontent was caused in the past by the conversion of sterling salaries into dollars for monthly payment in the Colony at the rate of 1/3 when in point of fact the dollar was generally worth a little less. This meant a small levy on all sterling salaries and the discontent was disproportionate to the very small financial benefit accruing to Government.

As the Salaries Commission have converted sterling salaries into dollars at 1/3, I see no objection to the same rate for reconversion into sterling for leave and pension purposes.
